Offshore
Early morning observations over the sea on the rising tide (0630-0730) provided 300 Manx Shearwater along with 120 Sandwich Tern, 115 Common Scoter, 60 Gannet, 8 Razorbill, 2 Puffin and single Mediterranean Gull, Arctic Tern and Little Tern.
Grounded Migrants
Grounded migrants involved 5 Willow Warbler and single Lesser Whitethroat, Blackcap and Whitethroat along with the third Treecreeper of the autumn.
Diurnal Migration
A total of 12 Swift flew through.
Wildfowl and Waders
Waders included 5 Greenshank and single Black-tailed Godwit, Whimbrel and Common Sandpiper.
Butterflies and Moths
The moth trap contained 43 species including Scalloped Oak, Antler Moth and Cabbage Moth – all new for the year.
