19th August 2023 – overcast/rain clearing S5/6/7
Offshore
Morning observations over the sea as the rain cleared through (0815-1015) produced 148 Common Scoter, 71 Gannet, 20 Manx Shearwater, 19 Sandwich Tern, 7 Arctic Tern, 2 Little Tern, 2 Arctic Skua, 2 Kittiwake and a single Shag, however the highlight was a single adult Black Tern heading into the bay at 0830hrs.
Diurnal Migration
A Swift flew through.
Wildfowl and Waders
Sightings included 350 Curlew, 35 Golden Plover and 2 Whimbrel.
Miscellaneous
The 2 Marsh Harrier remain.
