Offshore
Early morning observations over the sea (0630-0730) produced 380 Common Scoter, 20 Sandwich Tern, 14 Gannet, 10 Shag and single Arctic Tern and Kittiwake.
Grounded Migrants
Limited to 2 Willow Warbler, 2 Whitethroat and single Goldcrest and Wheatear.
Diurnal Migration
Tree Pipit dominated with 40 birds logged, also seen were 30 Pied Wagtail, 3 Grey Wagtail and 3 Sand Martin.
Wildfowl and Waders
Teal numbers begin to build with 60 birds logged. Waders included 15 Snipe, 14 Greenshank and single Green Sandpiper, Ruff and Black-tailed Godwit.
Miscellaneous
Three Marsh Harriers are now hunting the island.
Butterflies and Moths
The moth trap held 139 moths of 36 species including Mouse Moth, Common Wainscot, Frosted Orange, Feathered Gothic and Brown China Mark – all new for the year.
