An early morning check over the sea produced 82 Sandwich Tern, 50 Gannet, 11 Common Scoter, 5 Shag and a Little Tern.
Grounded Migrants
Most of yesterday’s birds had moved on with just 7 Robin, 4 Wheatear, 4 Willow Warbler, 3 Whitethroat and single Sedge Warbler and Spotted Flycatcher logged.
Diurnal Migration
Single Tree Pipit and Grey Wagtail flew through.
Wildfowl and Waders
Waders included 18 Greenshank and 3 Black-tailed Godwit.
Miscellaneous
At least one Marsh Harrier remains and the long-staying Hooded Crow was the best of the rest.
Butterflies and Moths
The moth trap held 140 moths of 36 species, with Sallow and Blood-vein new for the year.
