Offshore
Early morning observations revealed 510 Common Scoter, 70 Sandwich Tern, 24 Gannet, 17 Shelduck, 11 Kittiwake, 10 Guillemot, 7 Shag, 3 Arctic Tern, 2 Puffin, 2 Red-throated Diver and 2 Manx Shearwater.
Grounded Migrants
A Wheatear was logged.
Wildfowl and Waders
Waders included 1000 Dunlin.
Breeding Birds
The next generation of Starling are now starting to emerge.
Miscellaneous
The long-staying Hooded Crow remains.
Butterflies and Moths
The first Dingy Skipper are now on the wing and overnight attractions to the light trap involved 62 moths of 25 species and included Common Swift, Bee Moth, Clouded Bordered Brindle and Spectacle – all new for the year.
