Marsh Harrier leads some late movement

Offshore
Early morning observations (0530-0630) produced 1010 Common Scoter, 135 Guillemot, 53 Kittiwake, 50 Gannet, 44 Sandwich Tern, 28 Razorbill, 11 Puffin, 10 Manx Shearwater and single Fulmar and Little Tern.
Grounded Migrants
Three Spotted Flycatcher and single Willow Warbler and Chiffchaff were logged.
Diurnal Migration
Some late movement saw a Swift amongst 39 House Martin.
Wildfowl and Waders
Waders included 130 Sanderling, 10 Dunlin and 6 Turnstone.
Breeding Birds
Territorial Meadow Pipit are now well represented across the island.
Miscellaneous
The long-staying Hooded Crow remains and a female Marsh Harrier hunted the island’s sizeable rabbit population.
Butterflies and Moths
Overnight attractions to the light trap involved 156 moths of 27 species and were dominated by 73 Treble Lines but also included Nutmeg, Rustic and Mottled Rustic, all new for the year.
