Black Guillemot and Puffins

Offshore
An early morning seawatch (0615-0715) produced 70 Sandwich Tern, 43 Manx Shearwater, 25 Common Scoter, 22 Gannet, 19 Guillemot, 6 Puffin, 5 Red-breasted Merganser, 3 Shag, 3 Red-throated Diver and a Black Guillemot.
Grounded Migrants
Limited to 2 Chiffchaff and single Wheatear and Whinchat.
Diurnal Migration
A Yellow Wagtail flew through.
Wildfowl and Waders
A flock of 500 Sanderling were seen.
Breeding Birds
Reed Warbler are now holding territory at three locations on the island.
Miscellaneous
The long-staying Hooded Crow remains.
Mammals
At least 2 Bottle-nosed Dolphin were offshore.
Butterflies and Moths
The light trap attracted Common Carpet, Green Carpet, Pebble Prominent, Treble-lines and Turnip Moth - all new for the year.
