Early morning observations (0630-0730) revealed 1557 Common Scoter, 190 Sandwich Tern, 103 Guillemot, 37 Gannet, 8 Razorbill, 6 Kittiwake, 3 Red-throated Diver, 2 Red-breasted Merganser and a Velvet Scoter.
Grounded Migrants
Two Wheatear and 2 Spotted Flycatcher were logged.
Breeding Birds
Breeding waders involve Oystercatcher, Lapwing and Ringed Plover.
Miscellaneous
The long-staying Hooded Crow remains.
Butterflies and Moths
Overnight attractions to the light trap involved 95 moths of 23 species and included Small Elephant Hawkmoth, Shoulder Stripe and Waved Umber – the latter the first island record.
