Offshore
A dawn check of the sea revealed a post-roost congregation of 23 Shag.
Grounded Migrants
The first 2 Redwing of the autumn were logged; however, otherwise newly grounded birds were limited to 5 White Wagtail and 3 Chiffchaff.
Diurnal Migration
A Marsh Harrier drifted over the island at 1000hrs, otherwise only a light passage was generally in evidence with 745 Pink-footed Goose, 200 Meadow Pipit, 70 Skylark, 30 Jackdaw, 30 Linnet, 26 Chaffinch, 18 Swallow, 6 Tree Sparrow, 6 Grey Wagtail and 2 Collared Dove.
Miscellaneous
A Merlin was the best of the rest.
Butterflies and Moths
Late flying butterflies involved Small White, Red Admiral and Painted Lady.
