Rarities
The first Yellow-browed Warbler of the autumn was logged.
Offshore
A quick scan of the sea revealed 5 Shag.
Grounded Migrants
A further 33 Redwing were logged – an early date for this quantity; however, additional newly grounded birds were limited to 3 Chiffchaff.
Diurnal Migration
Another day of light passage with 390 Pink-footed Goose, 55 Meadow Pipit, 50 Linnet, 30 Skylark, 12 Tree Sparrow, 11 Siskin, 6 Grey Wagtail and 3 Swallow logged.
Miscellaneous
A Merlin was the best of the rest.
Butterflies and Moths
The light trap held 42 moths of 15 species, Lunar Underwing remains the dominant species while Grey Pine Carpet was new for the year.
