Offshore
Early morning observations over the sea (0800-0900) produced 123 Common Scoter, 35 Gannet, 5 Shag, 3 Sandwich Tern and 3 Red-throated Diver.
Grounded Migrants
Perhaps predictably, considering the wind direction, just 2 Wheatear provided evidence of any new arrivals.
Diurnal Migration
A steady trickle through the morning produced 110 Meadow Pipit, 100 Swallow, 44 House Martin, 20 Grey Wagtail, 17 Sand Martin, 12 Pied Wagtail, 3 Yellow Wagtail, 2 Tree Pipit and 2 Stock Dove.
Wildfowl and Waders
Waders included 32 Greenshank.
Miscellaneous
The Hooded Crow remains and 2 Peregrine were seen.
Mammals
A Badger revealed its presence.
Butterflies and Moths
The light trap held 175 moths of 30 species, immigrants involved Rusty Dot Pearl and Scarce Bordered Straw – the latter the first of the year.
