Pink-feet continue to pile through

16th September 2022 – bright and sunny/calm then NNW3/4
Offshore
A scan of the sea at dawn revealed 6 Common Scoter, 5 Shag and 2 Guillemot.
Grounded Migrants
Warblers on the move involved 3 Chiffchaff, 2 Whitethroat and single Willow Warbler, Sedge Warbler and Goldcrest.
Diurnal Migration
A further 3075 Pink-footed Geese flew through, however otherwise the skies were quiet with additional sightings limited to 3 Grey Wagtail.
Wildfowl and Waders
Waders included 20 Greenshank.
Miscellaneous
A Peregrine was again the best of the rest.
Dragonflies
A total of 6 Migrant Hawker were seen.
Butterflies and Moths
The light trap held just 21 moths of nine species with immigrants limited to Dark Swordgrass.
