Osprey saves the day!

3rd September 2022 – early rain then overcast/murky ESE2/3
Offshore
A check of the sea revealed 6 Shag but little else in the poor visibility.
Grounded Migrants
Despite the conditions limited to single Spotted Flycatcher, Lesser Whitethroat, Whitethroat and Willow Warbler.
Diurnal Migration
Although an Osprey headed south east over the island at 1020hrs the early morning conditions subdued movement with just single Yellow Wagtail and Lesser Redpoll logged.
Wildfowl and Waders
Single Pintail and Shoveler were amongst 95 Teal and waders included 8 Greenshank and a Whimbrel.
Miscellaneous
The Hooded Crow remains and 2 Raven and a Peregrine were the best of the rest.
Butterflies and Moths
A Painted Lady was again amongst a handful of Red Admiral.
